Sketching - a few questions

1. Is there a keyboard shortcut for locking the mouse to one of the principle axes (x, y, or z) when drawing a line? I know I can type in an angle or use the alignment indicator for this, but both of these can be a little tedious if doing this a lot. Some applications let you hold down the x, y, or z keys on the keyboard, but that doesn't appear to work here.

2. When sketching in the ST environment, how do you specify a parallel plane to sketch on (rather than a principle plane or one defined by a part face)?

1. Play around with your intellisketch option. Horizontal/Vertical is one of the assumptions it will make but it may get over ridden if there's other geometry it could be parallel/tangent etc. to. Can't remember if there's shortcuts, I learned SE before a lot of the shortcuts were there/common knowledge and lost track.

Hi,

1) there is none just because you don't need it
really ;-)
Just draw your line(s) and the use the Hor/Vert
relation to align it. Will work in both modes
of ST

2) use Coincident plane, select a plane or face, click
on the primary axis on the steering wheel and move
the plane, key in a value, press Enter -- that's it
