Sketch problem in NX 7.5

Hi All,

I have a sketch in NX7.5 which keeps over constraining too quickly when I add contraints. I have tested this by adding a completly seperate line with no inferred contraints, the sketch tells me I need 3 contraints. When I try this with another sketch that is working normally the sketch tells me to add 4 contraints, which is what I would expect.

The sketch giving me problems has a few offset curves, could this be the reason for the unexpected behaviour?

Anyone else come across this or have a fix?

Rich

Hi Rich...

This is a bit difficult to investigate without an example... Can you upload the partfile ( or create one showing the same behavior )

Did you created the offset curves with the Associative box checked? This will imply that they don't need dimensioning or constraints.

Best regards,

Michaël.

Thanks Guys,

I understand about the need to have an example, not sure if I can post one due to intellectual property rights reasons.

From memory, when I created the offset curves it told me I only needed 1 constraint (the offset value) this seemed normal to me. I have tried to create another offset curve but could not find the associative box although I did have the inferred contrains toggle button selected.

Cheers,
Rich

I deleted a bunch of contraints and re-did them slightly different. Now when I add an unassociated line it asks for 4 contraints, so it looks like the sketch is working normally again!

Thanks for your time

Rich

If you can't post the file here on a public site, then may I suggest that you cantact GTAC and have them look at it as they're set-up to protect your intellectual propery.
