It would probably be more cost effective to buy one.
The volume of the tank should hold approximately 1-1/2 truckloads of salt. The salt is blown in from a truck. You have a vent on top to exhaust. The brine leaves the unit saturated. There needs to a some type of screen laterals in the bottom to draw the saturated solution out.
But could you work out the size of one required for a specific process (known flow rates, conditions etc.), so then you'd know to buy one at least that size?
The only important parameter would be the discharge rate of the brine. If you know the discharge rate required for your process (water softener for example), you specify that flow rate.
