Similar requirements for the Site Classification for Seismic Site Response from the IBC came into force for Ontario as of January 2007.

It appears that Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering
by Kramer is a good book to get as a reference.

Are there any other recommended references, possibly ones that deal with Site Classification from a geotechnical point of view.

I have not had to deal with seismic and site classification before and need to start to get an better understanding of what is required.

A good reference for all aspects of earthquake engineering is: "International Handbook of Earthquake Engineering, Codes, Programs, and Examples", edited by Mario Paz
 
SEAOC has a pile of publications dealing with most areas of seismic design...
