My U.S. based company has been forced by a supplier bankruptcy to reverse engineer a product made in Europe. We were able to buy the drawings out of bankruptcy court and have been proceeding. One of the parts calls for ship building plate, SIS 1412, 20 mm thick.

So far in my research I have found about 15 cross reference tables. The Sandvik table get's you from SIS 1412 to a German Equal St 44-2 or a British 43B or a European S275JR. From that point, things are not quite so clear. Many of the other tables point to the USA equivalent St 44-2 or S275JR as being, variously, A529, A283D-A, A572, A573, with the 572 and 573 having various grade possibilities.

Has anyone here experience with this question?

Thanks,

Bob
