singularity and meshing control

Dear all members,


I am considering how to manually control the meshing of my part as I found a lot of singularity and out of sense stress value at some local areas through out stress analysis...Anyway, I am using wildfire 2.0. Step by step procedure will be so much appreciated.

Here are some methods for controlling mesh density.

1. AutoGEM Control


- specify Edge Distribution: number of nodes and interval ratio
- choose AutoGEM, Control


2. Surface Regions


- control element edges
- choose Insert, Surface Region


3. Volume Regions


- control element edges
- choose Insert, Volume Region


4. Datum Points


- element vertices at datum points


5. Datum Curves


- control element edges
- choose AutoGEM, Use Datum Curves


6. AutoGEM Settings


- control global settings
- choose AutoGEM, Settings, Limits


7. Detailed Fillet Modeling


- choose AutoGEM, Settings, Detailed Fillet Modeling
 
As i understand, surface or volume region are used to create a specific shape or local area/region for constraint or applied force purpose..I still don't see how it can control the density of the mesh at some area...please advise...
 
AutoGEM elements will not span across the volume regions.


Elements will automatically be connected across volume regions.


Example Use of Volume Region:


Contact analysis and want to capture high gradient localized Hertzian stresses: create small volume region around contact area to create small elements inside volume region.
