I am currently using Pro/MECHANICA to simulate the behaviour of a structure. I face a problem. I am designing a pillar in curve shape which i model in Pro/Engineer using a curve and sweep commande. In the fabrication process, this curve pillar will be bended using machine, as we know, this will put the pillar under certain degree of bending stress even before a load is applied on it as it will face some deformation in bending process. Pro/MECHANICA will treat this structure not under any stress at the beginning. How should i simulate this in Pro/MECHANICA?? Please help!

You can use a pre-stress analysis. Basically, start out with a straight column. Apply a transverse deflection to simulate the bending in the manufacture. Then run another analysis with this as your starting point and apply the installed loads

Hope this helps
