Hi,

The other question is how to apply BCs of simply supported plate (i.e. z=0 on all sides x=0 on sides parallel to x axis y=0 on sides parallel to y axis) when we are dealing with solid model not shell.
I tried to divide the plate over thickness into smaller plates connect them and then apply the usual BCs to the middle smaller plate but ansys nonlinear analysis does not converge.

No I have started using this program because people at my university use it :P You say that Patran is better?
