Hi to all,
I am using Pro-Engineer WF4.

I need to replace part on the drawing, but with following
condition: the part is an instance of family table and
special simplified representation is used. It should be
replaced by other instance of the same family table, but
with the same simplified representation.
Does anybody know the way how to do it but without using
Pro/Toolkit. Is it possible?

Please help me out......

I am on WF5. hence, the procedure could be slightly different.
You can click on the model (drawing mode, right click and "Replace". Replace with the family instance.
Click on the drawing view --> Right click --> Properties --> view state --> Simplified rep. Select your rep.
Proe is not open on my screen right now; hence, I am quoting from memory.

Thanks for your suggestion.

But its not working in my drawing.
I have made drawing of 1st instance using it's simplified
representation. Then made copy of that drawing by save a
copy. Then change the representation to master in new
drawing => replace with 2nd instance => and tried to change
the change the view state => but option is not highlighting
there....

....so I am not sure what I am doing
wrong...or is it possible in WF4 by your method...

Please help me......too many drawings to make...

Let me try and explain...
Let us say you have created a part named "A" having instances A1, A2, A3 etc.
Create a drawing for the part "A".
Create drawings for the parts A1, A2 etc using DRAWING of part "A" as a template. Your drawing for the instances would be ready with all dimensions, sections, detail views if applicable etc.
I am curious to know what your simplified rep of the part contains or does not contain that is already defined in the instance.

I have plate model which has finished (machined) plate in
master representation and no machined plate in simplified
representation named as "no_machine". And I want to create
drawing of the no machined plate.

Is this the same question as the OP?
if not then when in the drawing you choose which simp rep you want.

I have created drawing with only simplified representation
'no_machine' for 1st instance.
2) made a save a copy for 2nd instance of that drawing.
3) now tried to replace the model in drawing with 2nd
instance. But it doesn't highlight replace option. But when
change representaion to master, it allows me to replace
with new instance. But it doesn't change old view with
simplified representation of 1st instance. It keeps the 1st
instance view too.
so its no use for me to make family table, as i have to
create the drawings again for different instance

tusharpatil,
this is not the same query, I suggets you explain all this in a new topic under another subject.

You should use Inheritance feature instead. You will need AAX for this.
If not, please try one of the methods mentioned in the post....
