I intend to equip a scalene triangle shape with approxiamately 3' on each side with a split-drum manual winch for use as a lift. The idea is to connect two lengths of wire rope from the winch on one corner to the other two corners. I am concerned, however, about keeping this platform level, as I do not fully understand the changes in mechanical advantage that will occur by mounting the winch to one corner. Using the above described method, will my platform remain level with cranking of the winch? If not, how can I design this lift to cancel out the problems unbalancing it?
Thank you for your patience with my lack of knowledge.

Why don't you attach a real sketch. It's probably me as I don't seem to understand your diagram.
