Hi. I'm an amateur so please have patience. I'd like to create a circuit that I can hook up to a household sensor light so that when the light comes on a sound would be produced by something for a certain number of seconds. I can’t find any retail products to do this so thought I’d try making it myself. Anything that would guide me in the right direction (eg: read this chapter in this book, etc.) would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Go to and look up the 555 timer. Check out the spec and application notes and see if that helps.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi,
I also suppose (just an idea, I can not point you to any website), that you can try to use musical greeting card. Just connect yout sensor output (relay, open collector) to card's switch.

Best Regards
