in a Substation what is a differences between shunt reactors, series reactors and capacitor banks?

A shunt reactor is a reactor connected line to ground. A series reactor is connected in series. and a capacitor bank is a number of capacitors in a series parallel arrangement usually connected line to ground.

Shunt reactors and shunt capacitor banks are usually used to either absorb or supply reactive power, and thereby also help control voltage levels.

Series reactors are usually used to limit currents.
