Hi all,

We are currently having a tool made for a product with a tolerance of +0/-0.5 over 197mm. Wall thickness 5mm.

Du Pont only have the shrinkage data for 2mm thickness (Doh!).

Some material manufacturer's have info on shrinkage vs wall thickness, but as usual,I cannot find amongst my data heap.

I anyone has info would be appreciated.

Material is Zytel 73G30T (PA6)

Cheers

Harry

The T bit makes it hard to predict from other brand data as different impact modifier packages have different effects on shrinkage.

I have some data on Akulon K224G6 at 4mm section thickness before and after moisture conditioning to equilibrium at 23 deg C and 50% RH and some data on Durethan BKV30 at various thickness before and after conditioning, but it may lead you astray more than it helps I will try to scan it tomorrow.

Regards
Pat

Cheers Pat.

The T makes no diff according to D-P data sheets at 2mm, so I guess it's effect is minimal.

Sounds good info there - better than zilch!
