My views are in the favor of metal buildings because metal buildings have many advantages and saves trees. We can use metal sheds because metal doesn't release oxygen.
Share your opinions or other aspect of the coin please.
I'm not sure this is what you're saying, but I'd be very surprised if an environmental life cycle analysis of a metal structure compared favorably with a timber structure. Sure, it might save some literal trees, but I don't think that's our real benchmark, is it?
What's to gain giving up one just to exclusively adopt the other? Both have their inherent strengths and weaknesses, and neither material is guaranteed to always be the better choice, it depends on the situation.
From an environmental standpoint I think wood has a significant advantage:
- it can be replenished.
- like XR250 said, it sequesters carbon and can potentially result in a negative carbon footprint
- I'm not 100% confident but I imagine the manufacturing process for wood is friendlier than steel
You also can't covet your neighbors wife, but 3 mud huts down is fair game.
Gotta love a family pic that insists the 2 jackasses be in the picture. On top of that, they included the 2 mules also.
And lastly, I have seen that cow on the roof picture for years, and I still contend the cow is actually suspended over the hill behind the house by UFOs.
The cow is simply on the hill the hut is built into the side of. That was the au naturel way to keep the homestead relatively cool in the burning summers.
In the higher quality image on the web, you can clearly see the cow is on the hill, AND, you can see that the hill the cow is standing on is the roof of the house.
TTFN (ta ta for now)
I can do absolutely anything. I'm an expert!
Naw. That’s just a picture of a local sewer side at the corner of Pins and Needles near the Pike Street Market. The cow had already left the scene of the event. City maintenance engineer called it in after the coverup attempt ensued. Photo credits to a local photo pugilist.
Boof19 Wood is non renewable and on the other hand steel is the most recycled metal on earth. I guess deforestation has more impact on environment rather than carbon emission due to steel recycling process. Apart from environmental impacts, metal is good at every aspect like durability, strength, pests or rotting, age, etc. as compared to wood.
