Is there a low cost Short Circuit Current study calculation software package available? I have looked at E Tap and other software but they are much to expensive.

google "short circuit calculator" with the following phrase, filetype:xls.

There are many spreadsheets (some more comprehensive than others) that do this sort of thing if you have a simple radially fed system.

Look for "The MVA Method" by Moon Yuen. There are some posts on this site and there are a couple of IEEE papers about it. If you are studying short circuit calculations, that method and a calculator will get you familiar with the basics. It will help you check the programs' outputs also. And it is free.
