Shielding for a buggy

I'm working with a club at my school to design shielding for the frame of a buggy. I have the file for the frame of the vehicle, but it was designed in 3D sketches, and I'm having difficult shaping a thin cover around that frame. Any suggestions for what techniques I can look into for this?
