Hey there!

I'm having some trouble with abaqus.
I have a solid structure and I created a shell that covers it. I then deleted the structure and now I want the shell to have a thickness so I can apply mechanical properties to it (if there's any other way to do this without attributing a thickness it would also be useful).
I created this shell using the "edit mesh" icon (looks like a tool) that is available in the mesh module. I have already tried doing "tools - midsurface - assign thickness and offset" but abaqus says "The part does not contain any geometrical shell faces".

Can you help me please? I'm a bit desperate and I have my deadline for this project tomorrow!

It seems that you have orphan shell mesh. Either assign shell section with proper thickness to it or convert it into geometrical part (Geometry Edit tools).

Than you so much!!
