I have modelled structural members using Gauge Pipe in solidworks. When opened it in ansys it shows as a solid files.how can i convert the whole assembly structures into shell or used to redraw it.

Is shell mating possible in solidworks?

Kindly give the suitable suggestion in it.

thank you

while mating the no. of shell parts to assembly im facing mating error in solidworks

I still don't understand Shell mating per your definition. I think your talking about something in ANSYS and using the Shelling option in there. If that's the case then you will need to post your question in the FEA forum for ANSYS.

However the other question I have is did you make an assembly or did you use the weldment option in SW. If you didn't then maybe you should have done it like that instead. Then you wouldn't have to convert an the assembly. I don't think what you are talking about on the "Shelling" can be done, but you can convert an assembly to a part. To do that do a file\Save as and change the type to a part.
