Dear All,

Is it possible to use different material in same shell course??

in detail there are 8 plates in the bottom shell course with width of 2.5m, So is it possible to use 5 pate of A36 and 3 plates of S275JR??

Thanks in Advance :-)

I don't think the standard addresses that. The standard normally presumes that all plates in a course are of the same thickness. If both grades satisfy the stress and toughness requirements at that uniform thickness, I don't know why they couldn't be interchanged.

S275JR is EN 10025 structural steel and is not listed in API standards.
