Please excuse the stupid question...but what is the difference between regular type and low type openings?

"Low type" has a mouse-hole shaped reinforcing plate that extends to the tank bottom. "Regular type" has a round or diamond-shaped reinforcing plate that has to be a minimum distance above the bottom.
