sheetmetal die punch

i have created a punch to create a dimple in my sheetmetal
part. now i have reduced the height of the same punch.it
changes the overall length and width of the punch size
while doing so. is it correct?
 
No. it is not correct; unless a relation exists between
the dimensions. A pic can help us to understand.
