I have been using SolidWorks for the last nine years. Recently, I have been required to switch to IV PRO and have a question about the sheet scale property.

I would like to have the sheet scale linked to the model in the base view. Therefore, updating with the actual scale.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

There is a workaround to this in Inventor, but for the most part Autodesk does not like having the Base View scale in the title block due to the potential nature of having more than one part on a drawing (more common than you think), instead they rely on the View Scale identifier for this.

The workaround involves a template creation trick, but I would have to look it up to help you further.

Thanks, that would be great. My employer's standards require the scale in the title block. I understand the conflict. Thanks again.

Read this topic for more info and general practices. I would recommend against displaying the Scale in the TB as it is generally considered bad practice and invites problematic conflicts.

Its doable, but if you HAVE to you might find it easier to create a Custom iProperty and then just babysit it.

Thanks again for prompt response.

Thank you mflayler,
