hello fellow engineers,
I am looking for sheet pile wall design commercial software . it must be industry accepted software and must be approved by the Fdot. Plzz help.
thanks,
Ams
Civiltech makes "Shoring Suite" which is very versital, yet fairly easy to use. It does require some familiarity with sheeting design. I also use SPW911 which is also very good - generates nice reports and is quick for straght forward designs, but I feel for the more complicated loading cases, Shoring works better.
Hii All,
Thanx for the replies. I got the SPW911 software. Heyy DRC1 and anyone who is familiar with that program, can u tell me how do I apply horizontal line load. I tried to find out but I culd not get it.
Thanx,
AT
Do you mean a horizontal line load to the sheet, other than the support? If so, the answer is that I dont think you can technically define a line load. What you can do is apply a localized increase in pressureover a small length of the sheet. Say you wanted to apply 5 kips per running foot of wall 12 feet below top fo retained ground. You could define a pressure of 10 ksf acting over a depth of 11.75 to 12.25 feet. This should closely model a line load on the sheet. By the way, how do you get this condition?
heyy DRC1,
I wanted to apply a line load of 50plf at the top of a 3.5' railing over the sheet pile wall. this is the requirement for the crash test loading.
thanx,
amit
