Please recommend any good sources for designing sheet metal parts. Suggest any good books or websites that offer some general tips. I am particular interested in forming tools and standard knock out details such as connector cutouts.

BSMECAD:

Hi guy!

Here's a book that - at first - I thought I'd wasted my money on and after about seven or eight years I have found much more useful than I anticipated. It's almost as tired looking as my Machinerys' Handbook!

Walsh, Ronald A., "McGraw-Hill Machining and Metalworking Handbook." (New York:McGraw-Hill), 1994.
ISBN 0-07-067958-4

PS: I'm guessing you're an ME. Here's another VERY good reference for non-electrical [Mechanical] engineers:

Croft, Terrell, and Wilford I. Summers, "American Electricians' Handbook, Twelfth Edition." (New York: McGraw-Hill), 1992.
ISBN 0-07-013933-4
