Sorry if this information was presented in a previous thread, but I did not find the information I was looking for.
I have a ductile iron sheave that rotates about a shaft which is used to redirect wire rope. The sheave consists of a center hub, 6 spokes (arms) evenly spaced about the circumference, and an outer ring with a grove for the wire rope. Does anyone know how to calculate the stress in the arms? Also, what effect does changing the diameter of the shaft have on the stress in the pulley?

TIA,
