Dear All

I am a civil engineer and I need to carry out a detailed design of a shear or core wall in a 4 story reinforced concrete building using BS 8110. I would appreciate it if someone would send a spreadsheet and any other relevant information that would be of some assistance.

Regards

Dejean

There’s more here than a spreadsheet design. Don’t you have a more experienced engineer to help you with this?

A four storey building is not a major structure with concrete shear walls, but, you have to know what you are doing...

I've attached a lateral load distribution sheet from way back... it'll give you a start at the distribution of forces. I posted this a month or so back, but, couldn't find the thread. Once you know the forces, both lateral, vertical, and flexural... you can set right in and write your own spreadsheet.
