Hi,
I am using software from Dlubal RFEM for FEM calculations and recently I got confused about shear forces in plates. There ar three different results for shear force you can get with this program: basic shear force (vx, vy), maximum resulting shear force due to bending components (vmax,b) and maximum shear force force due to membrane components (vmax,m), for convenience I have attached pictures from program manual showing how these forces are calculated.
What force should I use to calculate plate shear resistance?
Is it correct if i use shear force vx for plate's shear resistance in one direction and vy in an[/size]other, or should I use one of these "maximum shear forces"?
