Sew edit to make solid. 1

Hello

I need some suggestion,
AS a input I have Sew Body with one surface missing.. So it is not a a solid body now.then i created the surface to fill the gap. and added this new surface as a tool sheet body. now i checked for boundary with examine geometry. it is perfect ,no boundary. but the sew is not a solid.
however if i create the new SEW with the same existing surfaces, i will get the solid body...
Here i dont want to create a new Sew to created solid...i want to use the old SEW only!!!!
Can any body advise me to do this??
I am using NX8

I was informed from GTAC a few years ago when coming across the same situation was that it is not possible to change the result of a sew operation. Once the sew thinks it created a sheet body even though you add surfaces to the sew to make it a solid it will still report a sheet body. This apparently is to prevent updates problems with children since they may expect a sheet body and now it is a solid so they can/will fail.
You need to either delete the sew and create a new one or create a new sew.

This is a just the way it works. Once you create a sewn body, that determines the type of body that this feature will be, either a Solid or a Sheet body. There is NO way to 'edit' one type of body into another.

For your situation you say that you are starting out with a sewn body, with a missing face, and that you create a new surface to close the volume. While you can't edit the original sewn body by adding the new surface and getting a Solid, there is NO need to unsew the original body and starting over. Simply create a NEW Sew feature using the original sewn body as the 'Target' and selecting the new surface as the 'Tool' and the result will now be a Solid body. Granted, you'll now have two Sew features in your model, but at least you've got your Solid body and except for the extra Sew feature, you'll will not have taken any more actions nor performed any more work than what you tried to do originally.
