Settle Out Pressure - Centrifugal Pumps

Does settle out pressure apply to centrifugal pumps? I've only seen the term applied to compressors or multi-phase pumps.

The term settle out pressure is generally applied in compressor/system applications when the compressor is shut-down. If a centrifugal pump is shutdown, the discharge check valve will hold the full process pressure on the other side. For centrifugal pumps, discharge pressure is the term commonly used when the pump is operating. If the outlet of a centrifugal pump is blocked, the term shut-in pressure is used.

High pressure on settleout on the suction side on shut-in of a pump would apply when there is a gas filled space somewhere along the discharge line of the pump. The saturation vapor pressure of this gas must be higher than that of the pumped liquid. An example would be a pocket of low mol wt natural gas on an LPG discharge line.
