In the company where I am working
we currently have a complicated procedure for sending dxf files to cnc operator
for milling parts.

At the moment we create dxf
file in pro/engineer (wildfire 4) and save it, then we open the dxf file in another
software called EXPERTCAD, then we set up zero point (x,y start point) save on
floppy disk and bring to cnc operator.

How is it possible to set up
(to change/control) this zero start point directly in Pro/E dxf, so we don

I do this all the time to transfer DXF to FEA programs. I used to bring my DXF into AutoMAD for cleanup but have learned it is possible to eliminate that entirely.

You can create a point in your model where you want the DXF origin to be. Then in your drawing view you can set that point to be the view origin and move it to 0,0 in the drawing. Works like a charm and is very precise. Be sure to turn the drawing format off as it will be overlapping your drawing view.

thanks for the speedy reply. I'll try that tomorrow.
