What is the best and easiest way to setup a specific font as the default font in staring all new Autocad files. (version 10)

I think right now it opens up the default font as a *.txt font but I would
like to know the easiest method to change it to "Aerial" font whenever it
opens the Auotcad version 10 file.

Thanks to anyone...

Version 10?

As in "R10" ? As in... the version of Autocad that was released in 1988? 28 years ago?

That Autocad?

ETA: Just in case you mean AutoCAD 2010, you need to open your template file and edit the default text style so that the font is "Arial" rather than "txt" or "romans" or w/e it is now.

It is Auotcad 2010

I there a way to set the font when you open Aotocad and do not use a template?

It goes as drawing1.dwg

AutoCAD does not work without using a template.

Even "drawing1.dwg" is a copy made from "acad.dwt" believe it or not.

Edit the template. I strongly recommend -not- editting "acad.dwt" as that would be easily overwritten during a repair install or any upgrade, though it may be of little concern since you're still using 2010.

Back in the day, I copied the text font I wanted to "txt.shx" so even if txt was the default font it used RomanS for instance.
