What kind of principles should I have to consider to structuring large structures?
I search for information, and the spain code sets to separate buildings for changes in temperature reasons.
I read some opinions which they consider separate buildings because of high weights and high seismic forces and it's difficult to control displacements of the structure; I think that it doesn't make sense due to shear forces are directly proportional from the weight, and of course directly proportional at shear elements.
Some comments are those related to construction processes, because large dimensions can deformed and stresses elements when the concrete is placing in a once time.
In any case it would be interesting have advices with numeric data to follow.
Can someone give me some references or bibliography to take a decision? the structure that I'm working have this dimensions: 10m by 60m.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
