I JUST MOVED FROM 2015 TO 2017. WHEN I SELECT A COMPONENT IN THE FEATURE TREE, ALL EDGES ARE GETTING HIGHLIGHTED SUBSTANTIALLY SLOWING THINGS DOWN. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON A TEE SLOT FRAME ASSEMBLY WITH LOTS OF EDGES AND WILL WAIT FOR UP TO A MINUTE FOR ALL EDGES TO HIGHLIGHT. IS THERE A WAY TO TURN OFF THE EDGE HIGHLIGHTING? I REMOVED ALL OF THE RADII ON THE PROFILE BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP MUCH. I'VE BEEN WITH SOLIDWORKS SINCE 2001 AND DON'T REMEMBER EVER SEEING THIS BEFORE. THANKS - DAVE

HMMM... I WONDER WHERE SUCH AN OPTION MIGHT BE. MAYBE UNDER TOOLS->OPTIONS? DANG. SO MANY CATEGORIES. WONDER WHICH CATEGORY HAS TO DO WITH DISPLAYING THINGS. MAYBE "DISPLAY"? NOW, IF I WERE NAMING AN OPTION ABOUT HIGHLIGHTING ALL EDGES OF THE SELECTED SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD I CALL IT? DUNNO. I'M STUMPED. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT THE ONE THAT SAYS, "HIGHLIGHT ALL EDGES OF FEATURES SELECTED IN GRAPHICS VIEW".

Handleman - You mean like the linked image below shows? Did that and it didn't help. As you can see, I unchecked said box but still get the edges highlighted even if I just hover over an item in the feature tree. But we're not talking graphics view here, no problems there. We're talking feature tree issues as mentioned in my original post. Such sarcasm isn't necessary or appropriate. If you ask sensible questions, I'll answer them. If you can't do that, then I'm sure we'd all appreciate it if you'd keep your sarcasm to yourself.

Dklarz,
Please don't lecture the people trying to help you. In case you haven't heard, typing in ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING and it is considered RUDE. This has been the rule since the internet was invented. If you don't like being talked down to like this, don't do it to others.

I read your question and chose not to answer at first, because I wanted to wait for you to try to troubleshoot the problem for yourself some more.

Not only is the first answer appropriate, but pretty obvious, therefore something you should have mentioned in your original question. You also did not mention if you have checked if your graphics card needs some TLC, or what kind of system you're running. We do expect people posting questions to demonstrate that they can help themselves, by providing enough pertinent information for us to start where you left off.
