Hi everybody.
I want to find a detailed table to choose butterfly valves disk and seat according to proccess fluid.
I looked for links about this but couldn't find a detailed one.
Can you help me about material selection for butterfly valves.
Best Regards.

Most valve manufacturers publish a compatibility table. The Durco table is the first document listed in this link:

I'm sending the Durco table because they specialize in Chemical applications and offer a wider materials choice than many manufacturers.

Fatih,

At most places that I have worked at, the selection of materials for valves and piping is already in a standard (the piping standard). You need to go get the applicable standard for your site.

There are many published process fluid to material tables available, form manufacturers, academics, etc. But, you still need to follow the standards of your site because, often, there are very different material requirements.

Have you read FAQ731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

fatihtezel,
are you are designing or buying butterfly valves, if I my ask?

Whenever particular, corrosive, erosive and/or dangerous fluids are involved, the valve Manufacturers are able to configure the best materials selection (bill of materials) for the specific service condition, also based on the type of valve and their experience with it.

According to Ashereng’s tip, the site specifications are also useful information (they may tell, for example, whether the design philosophy privileges the valve service life extension or the initial investment costs reduction…).
In fact in many cases, for a given service more of one selection may be possible…

Regards, 'NGL
