How can compute for the diameter of pulley (blower side), number of v-belt and distance between blower & pulley? Given are rpm of blower, break horse power. Do I have to assume the diameter of pulley & rpm of motor?

V-Belt selection is well documented in any catalogue. As long as you know the drive speed, the required driven speed, motor power and type of motor (electric, diesel whatever), approximate centre distance and motor and driven shaft diamaters the selection process will guide you to what belt , how many, recommended pulley sizes etc.

Minimum pulley diameters are dictated by power/heat considerations.

I usually use a FENNER catalogue as I find it suits my needs, but any reputable manufacturer's catalogue will suffice.

If you don't have access to catalogues, post the requirements I listed on this site and I'll run through the selection for you.

I used to have an excellent note on how to choose V-belt components. I'll try to get my hands back on it.

Is the application for a supercharger?

We have a Woods program here for easy calculations. Feel free to contact me, and I'll punch the numbers in for you.
