I need to select a 10hp electric motor and gearbox for a drivetrain powering a cart. The wheels need to turn at about 30 Rpm. I was looking at getting a motor such as this
It indicates that it has constant torque from 90-1800Rpm. I feel like this motor combined with a variable frequency AC drive and a gearbox with a 5:1 reduction ratio would work well.
The cart will only operate for a couple minutes at a time before stopping. Is there any problem with this setup? Also, I am having trouble finding gearboxes meant to handle 10hp. Could anyone point me in the right direction to find one with a reduction ratio of at least 3:1 and with dual outputs?
Thanks
