I was hoping that one of you could help me answer a question. For the seismic stress load cases, I set up the equivalent lateral force (ELF) load cases and scaled the modal load cases up to 100% of the ELF base shear. For drift, I essentially set up the ELF load cases but used the ASCE 7-16 drift provisions (12.8.6.2) and scaled the separate modal load cases up to 100% of the base shear computed in the ELF load cases using the 12.8.6.2 provisions to determine the story drifts. Is this approach acceptable?
