Security Issue On-Site 2

Good day fellow members.There was an issue on a residential project site where generators, tools and materials were stolen from the construction company I work with.These items are normally secured under storage lock and key for which has now proved to be ineffective.
In the end i would appreciate any alternative solution to the problem apart from hiring private security personal.

Most of these thefts are inside jobs. Who knows better what's on site than the workers?
First pay your insurance. Then, call the cops. As far as preventing it, private security is one way. We had a slightly off balance, heavily armed, guard who lived in a one-man trailer on site. Crazy helps.
Monitoring cameras might help, although the workers will know how to disable them.

One local Contractor recovered his equpiment because it was located with a wireless satellite asset tracking device that. Kuva configurable wireless asset-tracking device from Intergis uses GPS/GSM system technology.

Fences work well. Cameras are good too although they do not work well in the dark.

He has to catch them first. That might be an adequate deterrent to other thieves though.

I'm not sure it would work for a job site, but some rural town highway agencies smear axle grease or anti-sieze lubricant on the backs of highway sign panels to reduce theft.

Maybe the tyranny of Murphy is the penalty for hubris. -

Contact your local explosive supplier and inquire as the availability of an explosive magazine. Even before 9-11 it was difficult to break into one of these things..... today you'd need cutting torches and quite a lot of patience.

Becareful when leaving unattended things suspended from the crane - i.e if there is an abnormal weather event / failure of some description etc.
