Sectioning within "DRAWING"

I have two questions regarding sectioning in a DRAWING file. 1. How to omit section lines on ribs and spokes (single Part file). 2. How to show one arrow on a half section view (single Part file).

These are common applications (ANSI Standards) for individual parts. SW's "Help Index" seems VERY limited on sectional information working in "Drawing". There seems to be more flexibility working with sections in an assembly in "Drawing" than an individual product part.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use cut-extrudes and configurations to accomplish what you need, including parts that don't get cut, etc.

If an aligned section is needed, using cut-extrude isn't going to work if a rib or spoke has to be rotated within the aligned section.

In question 1., by "section lines" do you mean hatch pattern?

Can the spokes or ribs be separate bodies in the part?

In drafting terms, section lines would be the same as "hatch pattern" in CAD.

The spokes and ribs must be part of the same body. For example: A casting with ribs.

I have always known (drafting or otherwise since the '60s) a "section line" to be the line used to show where a part is cut, & the "hatch pattern" being used to denote which faces have been cut ... but that's a debate/argument for another thread.

In SW2003 & newer versions, SW parts can be created using multiple bodies. If the web or spoke is a (non-merged) multiple body within a part, it can be omitted from the hatch pattern on the drawing.

Regarding #2 question. Is it possible to show one arrow on the cutting plane line ("section line") for a half section. I have not found it to be an option. At least not in a practical location.
