i am looking to find rainfall data (24 hr depths and IDFs) for Iraq, Baghdad area, to use in hydraulic modeling. preliminary google searches have not returned anything promising. if someone can point me to a good source, i would really appreciate.thanks

Terry,
thanks for replying, i appreciate you taking the time in searching for this. yes, i did come across the same site, and it seems like i can get monthly rainfall total from there, that too historic records. does not get me close to IDFs or depths. any other suggestions?

It seems you didn't look hard enough. I spent a few minutes looking a couple of the documents on the previous link, and found IDF curves on page 30 (33 of the PDF) of the following document:

I also spoke to a coworker who was an engineer deployed in Iraq. He referred me to the Army Road Design Manual:

The relevant section begins on page 103 of the PDF. If one does not have IDF curves available, but can obtain isohyetal maps, this section outlines how to obtain IDF relationships.

If this does not get what you are looking for, I would contact the Army Corp for needed information and direction.
