Hi,

I am searching for a suitable pressure sensor chip for my new project. The project is related to a balloon catheter application. The sensor is supposed to measure pressure in the intestines.

Would appreciate if you could recommend me some types of pressure chips that are suitable for this intended applications and perhaps some recommended companies that provide a suitable pressure chip.

Thanks a lot!

Hiya-

Just as a general note, many of the manufactures in order to limit liability explicitly state that their products are not intended to be used in medical applications. TI comes to mind in this and I've seen many others.

Also along these lines, especially if one plans on bidding a medical product for a customer, is to take a look at the FDA guidelines for introducing a new product, even if it is not in vivo. They have REALLY cranked down on the documentation, etc. One would be prudent to take this into account when determining scheduling, NRE, etc. This, of course, also applies to in house projects.

Cheers,

Rich S.
