Searching for Simulation Models for continuous screen classification

i have to write a literatur research for modeling software for screening processes (sieving/classification. I have to find out wich exact models are behind. This will be s.th. like a mathematic decription for a limit size screen.
Can you help we with names or papers or books overthis theme?
