It is mentioned in our company document to use electric-resistance welded pipe i indoor application for fire fighting, but when i use NFPA 13, i found that it is applicable but with ASTM A135 while my document say that it should be A53.

note:
the connection i grooved not welded for sizes larger than 50 mm.
thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, A53 pipe is electric-resistance welded pipe. And of course, NFPA 13 and 14 allow A53 pipe to be used in sprinkler and standpipe systems in non-high pressure situations.

We specify both, but have been told by contractors the A53 is more expensive to procure than A135.
