We have several joints that constantly leak. The piping is sch 80 PVC and the liquid is sodium hypochlorite. Has anyone found a thread sealant that works better than others? We cannot glue/weld this joint due to its configuration. Teflon tape is just not doing the trick. Any suggestions?

You can try Permatex FORM-A-GASKET No. 2 Sealant. It can be used on PVC.

I have not had any luck with Teflon TAPE but have very good luck with a white paste with Teflon. Don't try to use both.

Note that you should not use pipe dope as it degrades the PVC.
