Sealing parallel thread by sealing paste for steam application

Hi,

Piping application with parallel thread sealed with well-know paste. The devise is a steam trap so unlisted component comonent under B31.3.
No clear answer in the code regarding this situation but I think that since the code requires a gasket for parallel thread that means this way of sealin is not acceptable.
What do you think ?
