For a sea water R-22 condenser I need to find a presostatic flow control valve. There are several tahat work with fresh water, and the only one I know for sea water is about 1 1/2" inches. Too small.

I need a flow of sea water about 48 m3/hr this is about 2 1/2" or 3" diameter. The valve should close or open depending on the pressure in the condenser. I need a pressure in the R-22 water condenser of about 150 to 220 psi. The valve pressure drop shoul be about 1 Bar at maximum flow.

Does anyone know another way to control this (remember the big problem is sea water so corrosive).

I also think of several smaller valves in paralel. What do you think about this alternative ?

This is quite simple really and done all the time when the required valves are too small. Come in the cond. with the required condenser line size(3") them install a "Y" two correct size valves(1-1/2") another "Y" back the required size, parallel the power heads to service valve on condenser. Hope this is helpful!

Why not use a Danfoss PM main valve with a HP pilot valve mounted on it?

Metrex. California. Near San Diego. Makes lots of such devices for the U.S. Navy. Through I believ 8" Size...

Thanks imok2 for a good sugestion.

Thanks sterl. Metrex seems to have all the valves you can ever need.

I apreciatte HVACR2 for his sugestion, but I do not know how to apply that. I think you are confused. The PM will control the refrigerant flow and what I want to control is the sea water flow to the condenser.
