I'm taking the lateral portion of the SE exam this april with my depth portion being buildings. NCEES list of design standards says that you will need the AASHTO 6th edition. I have a copy of the AASHTO 6th Edition with the 2013 interim revisions. Could i get away with using the AASHTO 6th Ed. with the 2013 interim revision on the exam?

Not sure I entirely understand your question but if you're asking if the addition of the 2013 updates to the 6th edition have any negative impact on the exam (which calls for only the 6th edition) then my answer is no. You should be confident in your use of the 6th edition with the code updates. That said, I recommend that you preface your solutions with the usual assumptions, as you would, and include the note of Ref: AASHTO LRFD 6th Ed with 2013 interims.

I hope this helps and good luck.

Qshake's answer might be applicable to the essays but I'd caution you regarding the multiple choice. When I was taking the exam, I had to use the 2010 edition with a specific interim revision. I had the original 2010 version and the interim pages separate in my book. I remember distinctly that there was a seismic question where the answer without the interim material was slightly off the one produced with the interim material. It was just enough that had i not had the correct sheets with me, I wouldn't have been able to get the answer.
