Does anyone have any good resources on designing shear walls using wood screws instead of common wire nails for plywood shear walls? The AWC and the APA told me that it was up to a manufacturer to provide testing and results for use in design, but so far I can't find anyone that has completed these tests and published the data to design shear walls with screws.
Simpson has ESR-1472 to allow the replacement of 8d and 10d nails with their WSNTL Wood Screw to get the same values in a horizontal diaphragm, but they have no data/products for use in vertical shear walls.
Any insight is helpful.
