Screw Size for Hose Clamp

Hi :


I am trying to figure the bolt preload due to torque on the clamp. But I am not able to figure out the size of the screw used for this clamp. The max I know is they say use 5/16" hex nut driver to tighen it. Can somebody help ?

Think of the worm as a wedge wound into a circle.

Given: Torque= 35 in-lb.
Measure the pitch of the worm.
Measure the diameter of the worm.
Calculate the circumference of the worm.
Calculate the force on the worm in pounds.
Find the angle (Rise over run) for the pitch and the circumference.
Then Force*Tan angle= tension of the band.
