screw motion simulation

Hi,


I am trying to simulate the power screw arrengment in mechanisms. Can u tell me how to define the joint for simulating the motion. Is it possible to simulate it or?

I think what you need to do is give it maybe a cylindrical or slider connection and then use a slot follower connection to get the defined motion..

yeah its pretty easy.



just make your slot path = the od of the screw the pitch part of it

then get your follower (a point) to mesh with your screw. making
sure that ur follower is propperly constrained. (slider orther wise it
will rotate)
 
hmm this seems to be a pretty common problem :) think i will make a
tutorial on this for your web page james..since ive no idea what else
to do.
